Weaving Groups
You’ve attended your first SAORI Workshop, so now what’s next? How do you keep up your momentum and step more fully into your SAORI journey? For many, joining one of our weaving groups is the answer! For those interested in more regular sessions, we offer a Weaving Group monthly membership, with studio weaving time either weekly, bi-monthly, or once a month (based on availability).
Regular weaving groups are where the magic happens! Inspiration flows, friendships are made, and our creative voices sing! Students weave independently, and if requested, gentle guidance is provided as their exploration of SAORI weaving continues.
We currently offer four different Weaving Group membership options:
1st & 3rd Thursdays (3.5 hrs) — 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
2nd & 4th Thursdays (3.5 hrs) — 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Every Friday (3.5 hrs) — 10:30 am - 2:00 pm
Once Monthly Saturdays (4 hrs) — 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
COST
The Weaving Group membership fee is $50/month and allows you to attend one or all of the sessions offered in your selected group option during the month. For the Saturday Weaving Group, the $50 fee is for that one session. Unless special arrangements are made ahead of time, membership is specifically for ONE of the Weaving Group time slots, and switching between time slots is not permitted.
Weaving Group membership includes:
Your spot at a loom and rental of the inside set containing your ongoing work
A cubby to hold your working yarn/fiber for your current project
Use of studio weaving equipment
Any basic guidance you might need
Group membership DOES NOT include:
Cost of in-studio basic weaving materials, which are calculated by weight upon project completion, generally at $5/oz
Exotic and Luxury yarn, generally at $7/oz
Handspun yarn from my personal collection, generally at $3/yard
You may also purchase items I have found during my travels to fiber festivals, including luxury or specialty weaving yarn, ribbon, handspun yarn, sheep locks, etc. The price for these will be marked.
SAORI supplies and equipment are always available, either from my current inventory or by order from Japan. NOTE: If you bring your own materials to use in your projects, we’ll adjust the final per-ounce cost accordingly.
The Weaving Group membership fee is requested the first of each month. Please see our Events Calendar to make note of when sessions may not be held due to special events or travel. Occasionally, I will offer make-up sessions at no extra cost. Availability of those sessions is based on my loom capacity and in order of RSVPs. We ask that you notify us by WEDNESDAY if you cannot attend that week's session. Otherwise, we will look forward to seeing you! NOTE: If you know you’ll need to miss an entire month or more, just let us know in advance and we can waive payment.
Typically, groups are held from January to June, and September to December, with schedule flexibility.

Membership slots for these Weaving Groups are limited and are often at capacity. If you would like to inquire about availability and/or add your name to the waiting list, please fill out the Class Registration Form at the bottom of the Classes page.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel your confirmed registration, the following will apply:
You may switch to another workshop date with availability, or you may invite another person to attend in your place for that specific workshop.
Cancellations received at least 48 hours in advance of scheduled workshops or intensives are eligible for a full reimbursement. You may choose either store credit for the full refund amount, or the class fee refunded to your credit card, minus a $25 charge (for credit card fees charged to us).
For cancellations received less than 48 hours before the scheduled workshop or intensive, or if the registered student does not show up to the event, no refund will be offered.
